Made a stop at Cabellas, we're staying/stayed at the RV park on-site. This is the grandaddy Cabellas of 'em all, with corporate hq adjacent to the store.

The RV park is okay. Central dial-up internet access, no wifi. Reasonable-size sites. Reasonable rates. No extras, other than included cable in the FHU sites. It's also the onliest game in town. Some noise from the freeway about 1/2 mile away.

I hate to admit it, but the stop was instigated by some things my wife wanted. Yes, I could wander around for hours in a Cabellas, but I couldn't think of anything I wanted to buy. Or needed. OTOH, wandering around does have some reward. I found a style of pants I want to try. I also decided that my million-year-old L.L. Bean trail model vest is just getting too long in the tooth -not to mention the part about me outgrowing it, it's been a number of years since I was a 42 regular- and so I'd buy a new one. Unfortunately, Cabellas doesn't have an analog garment. They have goose down and fleece vests, but not anything in any kind of synthetic stuffin'. I know there are many advantages to down, but when it gets wet its insulating properties go away, so I was looking for Qualofil or one of the newer engineered filaments.

Nada.

I did pick up a kinda-sorta hunting jacket type of thingy. Relatively lightweight, water and wind "resistant," in Break-up camo. I'll see how it works as a general purpose windbreaker next week, in Chama, where I suspicion I'll be glad to have it.
