Meandering down the road
5 Sept 2006 (This may or may not get to the blog today) I'm tempted to say, "On the road again," but that would be just too cliche. But that's what we're doing. We left Lemmon this morning, on our way to Chama, NM. Did about 200 miles. We're not blasting down the road, but I don't anticipate much sight-seeing. I'm not too sure if there are likely to be any sights to see until we get to within about 20 miles of our destination. One bit of prairie looks much the same as another, to my (desert guy) eyes. Tonight we're in Hermosa, SD. Pronounced, in the Murcan fashion, "her mo' sa." Not, "err mo' sa" as one might expect. I don't know how a place in SD came to have a Spanish, or at least Spanish-sounding name. But there it is. About 20-ish miles south of Rapid City, on the eastern fringe of the Black Hills. Staying at the Heatland RV park, moderately okay place. Pix to follow.
